Join Special Olympics On Lower Broadway during Downtown after Dinner. The Big Brown Truck Pull is a truly unique fund-raising event that gives companies and organizations from throughout the Paducah area the chance to put their weight behind Special Olympics.
The event includes a fun festive atmosphere with great prizes. The Big Brown Truck Pull works just like a Walk-a-Thon, but with one big twist. Participants still solicit donations to support their effort (a minimum of $50 to take part), but instead of walking, pull teams take their turn playing Tug-o-War with a huge UPS 18-wheeler.

In a society where everyone is going green, many people (now more than ever) are turning to geothermal heat pumps like the ones offered at Ingram's Water and Air in Paducah, KY.
Coming from the Greek words geo (earth) and therme (heat), Geothermal heat pumps like the McQuay Enfinity Water Source Heat Pumps receive their energy from the earth to heat and cool the home with natural warmth. Using the environmentally safe R-410A refrigerant, it cools your home without depleting the ozone layer, making the choice for a new heat pump that much easier.
Jason Ingram (owner of Ingram's Water and Air) Says
"Installing a geothermal system is equivalent to planting 750 trees or taking two cars off the road."
While helping the environment and reducing energy costs, the McQuay heat pump has a patented sound barrier that makes the unit extremely quiet and produces a higher level of energy efficiency than any other geothermal units on the market. Federal incentives alone can cover 30% of the total cost, including equipment and installation.
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Reports
"Homeowners typically experience an annual savings of 30 to 70% when compared to ordinary systems, and geothermal units will pay for themselves within 4-5 years."
If you're looking to go green, need a replacement heat pump, or just want to save your hard earned money, a geothermal unit with the McQuay heat pump is the way to go. You're gaining impressive savings while helping the environment, and with a geothermal unit there are no worries to have about flames, fumes, odors, or carbon monoxide.
Federal Tax Incentive
Geothermal heat pumps qualify for the government tax credit, which gives you a 30% tax credit for all out of pocket expenses involved in purchasing and installing your new geothermal system.
That's a huge savings offer, especially in our nation's current economical status.
State Rebate Program
Each state is also offering a rebate for qualified geothermal purchases. It seems they have around $2.5 million dollars or more allocated to the rebate incentive.
For Kentucky residents a $400 rebate is offered.

Federal Renewable Energy Grant
Besides the tax credit and state rebates, it seems Geothermal Heat Pump Systems are also eligible for 2 different grants to assist consumers in purchasing the new energy saving geothermal systems.
One of the grants offers 30% for property that is part of a qualified facility, qualified fuel cell property, solar property, or qualified small wind property or 10% for all other properties (which includes residential homeowners).

The second grant offers 25% of total project cost, which includes any out of pocket expenses involved in purchasing and installing your geothermal heating and air system.

Get Your Geothermal Heating & Air System Today
With all grants, tax credits, and rebates, Western KY residents would essentially only end up paying only $1,743.35 for a geothermal system that would originally cost $6,123.00 (which includes everything you need to install and run the system).
The grants do have specific qualifications you must meet in order to receive them, so make sure to read the qualifications to make sure you are eligible.

Retreat at Family of God at Reidland, a church of Christ, on March 26-27, 2010. All girls 12-19 from anywhere in the area are invited.
The Power of Purity is a seminar for teenage girls to show them the power and beauty of sexual purity. We want to help the girls understand the price of sexual activity outside of marriage -- physical, emotional, and spiritual -- and to show them their pricelessness in Christ. We want to enable them to look critically at their culture to discern the underlying messages and values. We want to raise awareness in the parents of the sexualized culture the girls live in and the pressures they face, and show them the importance of giving attention and affection to their children, monitoring their children's activities, and being spiritual leaders for their children so they are not so vulnerable. We want to work together to create a culture where sexual purity is expected, desired, and supported.
We hold weekend retreats to educate girls about sexual purity and to equip them to remain sexually pure or to reclaim their sexual purity. These retreats run from Friday evening to Saturday late afternoon.
The girls scrapbook the throughout the retreat. They come to the retreat with their own photographs gathered during a photo scavenger hunt that we send them on, and we give them a scrapbook to use upon their arrrival at the retreat. After each lesson or discussion by various speakers, the girls participate in scrapbooking sessions. By Saturday night, each girl will take home a keepsake scrapbook with pictures she took, letters she wrote, scriptures she chose, and designs she created.
The weekend sessions include these topics:
- You Are Priceless
- A Great Mate
- Your Moral Compass
- Creative Dating
- Tithing Your LIfe
- Cleaning Out Our Lives and Our Closets
- The Cult of Culture
- Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Consequences Of Sexual Involvement
