Pick Your Own…Blueberries, That Is.

There's nothing sweeter than being able to pull blueberries straight off the bush and pop them in your mouth. At least, that's what our two-year old would tell you. (And, we wouldn't disagree.)

blueberry2Sure, blueberries can be bought year-round at Walmart for $3.00 for only a pint (close to 3/4 lb including the container), but there is just something different - wonderful, even - about picking your own blueberries FRESH. It also helps when said blueberries can be found for only a fraction of the cost than those at Walmart!

At Lynn Grove U-Pick Berries, you can walk down rows of blueberry high-bushes, picking your own fresh blueberries. And, at only $2.00 a pound, it's a steal! The berries are fresh and juicy and even the littlest of fingers can't help but sneak a few berries. The blueberry U-Pick station is open all the time and operates on the honor system.

Technically, you could come pick blueberries day or night (although I'm not sure how you'd maneuver a flashlight, bucket, and picking berries). There are buckets provided for picking the berries and once you've collected all you want, you simply weigh your berries and record how many pounds you've collected in the logbook. Next, you place your money in an envelope and empty your berries into a grocery bag they've graciously provided --or your own buckets or containers. Simply slip your envelope with your payment into an old van's window, where the money collects in a box sitting on the seat, and you're finished!

Directions:

Take 94 West out of Murray and follow the road until you reach Lynn Grove. Turn Left at the caution light and it's .2 miles on the right (you'll see a sign). Pull into the driveway and park behind the house in front of the outbuilding.
