August 5 – Marshall-Graves Counties Democratic Golf Scramble
The seventh annual Graves and Marshall Counties Democratic Golf Scramble will be held August 5th, at the South Highland Country Club at 3313 State Route 303 just south of Mayfield, KY.
Tee time is 9:00 am. Men and women golfers are invited to come play with Jack Conway, candidate for Kentucky U.S. Senator.
Tickets are $200 a team, which includes lunch provided by State Representatives Fred Nesler and Will Coursey from Marshall County. Cash prizes will be given for first and second places.

An Employment Opportunity Fair will take place on July 23rd from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Cougar Center at Mid-Continent University, 99 Powell Road in East Mayfield. The event is sponsored by the Kentucky State Treasury, Mayfield Career Center, Mid-Continent University and Graves Growth Alliance, Inc.
The purpose of this event is to bring job seekers and employers who have current job opportunities or upcoming job opportunities together in and effort to help re-employ our work-force and boost the local economy.

August 3-7 – Carlisle County Fair
The Carlisle County Fair kicks off with a parade at 10:30 am on Front Street in Bardwell, KY on Saturday, August 3rd. The annual fair takes place on the Carlisle County Fairgrounds on US Highway 62 and features a parade, animals, food booths, kids activities, a carnival, agricultural exhibits, music, commercial vendors, children's entertainment, and more.

July 22-24 – Paducah Summer Festival
It is once again, time for the annual Paducah Summer Festival taking place on the front lawn of the Carson Center in Downtown Paducah.
Stop by for evening concerts, family events, food, a beer garden, and a fabulous fireworks finale at the Port of Paducah.
Returning events this year include the 20/30 Group’s Kick ball tournament, Budweiser’s Beer on the Bricks, Kidz Day at The Quilt Museum, and The USO Big Band Dance hosted by Legacy Personal Care Home.

The Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Chapter Q, and the City of Hopkinsville, Division of Parks and Recreation, are hosting Motorcycling Safety Awareness Day - a day to show off your bike, increase your knowledge and skills, and meet other motorcycling enthusiasts.

July 17 – Let’s Beautify LaCenter Treasure and Bake Sale
Let's Beautify LaCenter Association is having a Hidden Treasure and Bake Sale fundraiser on Saturday, July 17, at the Community Farmers' Market on Highway 60 in LaCenter.
The day will begin at 8:30 am with coffee and donuts. The Hidden Treasure Sale and Bake Sale will kick off at 11:00 am with hot dogs and drinks being served.
Proceeds benefit the LaCenter Community Farmer's Market.
July 17 – 9th Annual Fred Paxton Fund Run for Charities
The Community Foundation of West Kentucky and UBS proudly present the 9th annual Fred Paxton Fund Run for Charities.
Registration begins at 6:30 am at shelter 10, with the 5K starting at 8:00 am, and Youth Run at 9:00 am. Cost to register is $17 in advance or $25 on race day and $5 for the Youth Run (Ages 12 and under).
Paxton was instrumental in the creation of this event to help the area's nonprofits build endowment funds.
This year's event helps to raise money for a total of 19 local organizations. You can give as much money as you'd like to as many of the organizations as you'd like, and the community foundation will match all the donations up to $10,000 per organization.
As an added thank you to those who participate, the Paducah Bank WOW! wagon will be giving away free ice cream afterward, and the Noble Park pool will have free swimming passes from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon for anyone who brings their race bib.

Bellewood is a 158-year-old non-profit agency that serves abused, at-risk and homeless youth in Kentucky. The Paducah office helps young adults transition from foster care to independent living.
Child Watch Children’s Advocacy Center
Established in 1984, Child Watch works to prevent child abuse, as well as to evaluate and treat child abuse victims. The organization offers kid-friendly exam and treatment rooms, play therapy, educational outreach and a number of other services to take care of our area’s most vulnerable.
Community Foundation of West Kentucky
By donating to The Community Foundation, we’re adding to a permanent charitable endowment that earns a significant amount of interest income each year. The interest is distributed to local organizations in the form of grants. The more we give, the more interest the endowment earns and the more grant money is available to support local groups.
Easter Seals of West Kentucky
Easter Seals creates solutions that change the lives of children and adults with disabilities or other special needs. Teams of therapists, teachers and health professionals help each person overcome obstacles to independence and reach his or her personal goals. Easter Seals also includes families as active members of any therapy program, and offers the support families need.
Family Service Society
The Family Service Society provides emergency relief for low-income people and families, including help with utilities, medication, dental, transportation, rent, glasses, clothing, food, personal hygiene items and household goods.
Market House Museum
Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, The William Clark Market House Museum has been a vital part of Downtown Paducah since it was founded in 1968 for the dual purpose of education and preservation.

The Market House Theatre enhances the quality of life in our community by providing a “hands on” artistic experience for people of all ages. Paducah Cooperative Ministry is an inter-faith ministry founded in 1973 by and for local congregations. On July 8, at 3:00 pm, the Carson Center will be hosting a FREE workshop especially designed for teachers. Tap into your own creativity and learn how to use theater games in your classroom in a fast paced, fun, FREE theater workshop.
This informative workshop is geared toward adult educators, childcare specialists and anyone who works with kids. Incorporating innovative exercises and theatre games, this hands-on, fun filled workshop is designed as a guide to tap the creativity and spontaneity of children of all ages.
Bring a notepad, a pencil, and your imagination. We will supply the fun, the learning, and the lemonade and cookies.
Note: This is a highly interactive workshop. Get ready to step outside of your shell and let loose.

Without the support of visual images, the most talented of actors can portray only a narrow spectrum of characters. Make-up is the foundation and the most basic visual image for all performers. This FREE theater workshop at the Carson Center in Paducah, KY, on July 7 at 3:00 pm, teaches students of all ages by demonstrating corrective, old age, and fantasy make-up.

July 16-17 – Wranglers 14th Annual Grand Jubilee & Primitive Rodeo
Join Wranglers Campground at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area July 16-17, for the 14th Annual Grand Jubilee and Primitive Rodeo.
The Jubilee is a celebration for all horse lovers and trail riders who have made Wranglers Campground such a success during the past year. Activities include half-price camping, a watermelon feast, exhibits, children's activities, and a visit from Smokey Bear. Half-price camping will be offered Friday and Saturday.
The rodeo also returns to Wranglers Campground with events beginning at 8:00 pm. Enjoy exciting rodeo events such as saddle-bronc and bareback riding, steer wrestling, calf roping, barrel racing, break-away roping, and bull riding. "Primitive" refers to the informal atmosphere--Wranglers Campground does not have a permanent arena, so visitors are asked to bring their own lawn chairs.
Rodeo admission is $8 ages 13 and up; $5 ages 12 and under.
